Gambling myths what you absolutely need to know

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:14 pm

Gambling is considered a game of luck and chance. As the outcome is usually unsure, there are various myths that surround the world of gambling. However, as is mostly the case, these myths are nothing but superstitions that can be refuted by facts.

The premise that gambling involves luck is not concrete. Mathematical matrices and probabilities are tools that can be used to calculate one’s odds. In fact, the casino’s all operating on these strategies to be the winner in the long run. If the players had an advantage on the casino, the casino would suffer huge losses. Each casino has a pre established house percentage which determines how much advantage it enjoys over the player. These percentages are usually kept small, yet the casinos earn huge profits owing to the frequency of losses and the volume of players.

Blackjack, poker and slots are frequently surrounded by myths. Many creators claim that their betting systems are fool proof and ensure consistent winnings. This is all farce, especially knowing the mathematics of the casino and the concept of house advantage. No betting system can sustain for long periods, though it might get a few initial wins. Another talked about principle of winning is that of card counting in blackjack. Accurate card counting and placing all the cards requires pure genius. Even skilled players can take hours to place the cards. A faster method is to determine the odds of the game and then participate.

Slot myths can be quite entertaining. One of the popular myths is that the slots are monitored by the casino and it they who decide whether one would win or loose. In truth, there is no hidden camera or surveillance on the slot machines. The entire game is governed by computer programs and is quite independent of human interference.

Another myth is regarding the facilities provided by the casino to a winning gambler as compensation. It is believed that the casinos provide free rooms, meals and other amenities to the gambler who wins and that these gamblers are the best ones the casino has at that time. It is not the best gambler that the casino compensates every time.
Depending on the potential to pay, the casino compensates the gamblers. Free rooms and meals are provided to make the experience better even in case the gambler suffers huge loss. This helps in building good customer relations and customer loyalty, so that the gambler can be a good source of income in the future.

The tussle between religion and gambling is quite old. While some regard gambling as immoral, some think that gambling on festivals brings luck. A simple explanation can be the age of gambling. Gambling is perhaps as old as the concept of religion itself. Cards and dice games were popular recreational activities and were also used at times to predict the future. Thus gambling and religion can be intricately linked but do not oppose each other.

Myths might be based on true incidents. But with time, they get distorted or blown out of proportion, to sound completely baseless and irrational. Speculation also gives rise to myths. These rumors are an entertainment that come along with the game and should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Oil Producing Nations Should Want Greater Stability in the M

Isolation of Arab Nations from the global community may jeopardize the future of the entire Middle East region. New improved technology can be used as a tool to isolate and separate the Middle East region from the developing world.

Oil Producing Nations
Should Want Greater Stability
in the Middle East

All Arab governments in the Middle East should want to create more stability in the Middle East.

The world is constantly changing. All Arab oil producing nations should have a vested interest in discovery and application of more efficient oil production processes.

Material science is undergoing rapid progress. New emerging technology is creating super strong and lightweight materials.

Super strong and lightweight materials have tremendous application to more cost efficient oil production processes. Super strong and lightweight materials can potentially create virtually indestructible drill bits and oilrigs.

No one knows where, when, or how full assembler based nanotechnology will be discovered. It is plausible that full assembler based nanotechnology may very well be discovered at an Arab University.

The most likely scenario is every nation will separately pursue its own scientific research programs. Eventually, every nation may discover full assembler based nanotechnology on its own accord and timetable.

Central themes are found in all forms of religion. A central theme in most religions is, “Am I my brothers keeper”.

Instability in the Middle East as evidenced by the pattern of war in that region is an obstacle to building trust, cooperation, and mutually beneficial sharing by scientific research institutions across the globe. No one will ever want to share or cooperate in any form or fashion with a Nation that demonstrates it will use new knowledge to kill the people who choose to share knowledge and new scientific techniques.

Hence, it may take many years to build trust. However, as long as people suffer on this planet, one can be assured Nations will continue to find new ways to increase available material resources.

An increase in material resources leads to greater social stability. Social stability creates stronger societies. People do better when they have the material resources allowing them to function as responsible citizens who make a contribution to the society in which they live. Thus, the world will change rather or not we want it to change.

The future of the Arab region depends upon the ability to (1) preserve traditional Muslim values of giving all due praise and worship to Allah, and (2) learning to adapt to change in the world without compromising traditional Muslim values.

The Spirit of Truth and Discernment attest that Allah has the power to call it quits in terms of continued existence of the entire planet earth at any time. The decision to call it quits should be up to Allah, and not mere human individuals.

Isolation of Arab Nations from the global community may jeopardize the future of the entire Middle East region. New improved technology can be used as a tool to isolate and separate the Middle East region from the developing world.

Scanning Probe Microscopes (STM) are a new class of scientific instrumentation that allow scientist to manipulate and reconfigure molecular bonds in the molecular arrangement of a chemical compounds. Laboratory processes that use to require an entire fully equipped laboratory filled with big bulky laboratory equipment can now be performed with a computer chip.

The new class of scientific instrumentation can make laboratories that produce deadly chemical agents more mobile. The new class of scientific instrumentation may make the job of weapons inspectors, either now or in the near future, a virtually impossible task.

Has Iraq got the new class of scientific instrumentation? The people of Iraq are extremely intelligent. You can bet, if Iraq does not have the new class of scientific instrumentation yet, Iraq is actively working on obtaining the new class of scientific instrumentation.

The United Nations task of increasing stability in the Middle East is about to become more difficult with each passing day.

Free Satellite TV — Is It Really Free?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:45 am

You’ve seen the online and offline ads — “Free satellite TV!” “Get a 4-room Satellite TV System Free!” and “Satellite TV Dish and Receivers Absolutely Free!”

But is satellite TV really free?

The answer to that question is yes … and no.

Yes, the equipment you get — the satellite TV dish and satellite TV receiver — is free. But no, the programming service will cost you money.

Let’s examine the facts.

Due to the demise of Pegasus and Voom, there are only two major satellite TV providers in the USA — Dish Network and DirecTV.

Dish Network Satellite TV Service

When you order a free satellite TV system from Dish Network, you will be asked to pay a $49.99 activation fee. This fee will be credited to your programming bill, so in essence, your satellite TV system is free. Installation of your satellite TV system is also free.

With Dish Network you have the option to upgrade to a DVR (digital video recording) receiver, or an HDTV (high definition TV) receiver at no charge.

Dish Network programming starts at $31.99 per month for 60 program channels, and goes up to $86.00 for 230 channels including Showtime, Starz!, HBO, Cinemax, and Sirius radio.

Dish Network offers more movies, shows, and HDTV than cable or DirecTV, and with one of their free DVR receivers you can record, pause, and fast forward live TV with a click of your remote. All Dish Network programs are broadcast in digital format for crystal-clear picture and sound.

DirecTV Satellite TV Service

Depending on your credit rating, when you order a free satellite TV system from DirecTV you may be required to pay a deposit or prepayment. Because the deposit is refunded to you and the prepayment goes toward your programming fees, the DirecTV satellite dish and receivers are free. Installation is also free.

If you want a DVR receiver you will be charged an additional $49.99. The charge for HDTV receivers is $299.99.

DirecTV programming packages start at $41.99 per month for 115 channels (including 31 music channels), and go up to $93.99 per month for 185 program channels, including Showtime, Starz!, HBO, Cinemax, and 31 music channels.

DirecTV offers more sports programs than you can get with cable or Dish Network, including the popular NFL Sunday Ticket, and is broadcast in all-digital format.

The Bottom Line

Both Dish Network and DirecTV’s basic satellite TV dishes and receivers are free … but the service will cost you anywhere from $32 to $94 a month.

So if you watch just a few television programs a week and have access to over-the-air TV, or if you have cable TV and are happy with your service, then satellite TV probably isn’t for you.

If, on the other hand, TV is one of your primary forms of entertainment and you want the biggest variety of shows, movies, sports, and new — or if your cable bill is beginning to equal your mortgage payment — then satellite TV may be just the ticket.
